Rather to my shame, I am not (or not yet, anyway) a member of the Society of Garden Designers (www.sgd.org.uk) – though I am on the mailing list, hence have just been alerted to their spring conference, to take place this Saturday (April 17) at Imperial College London.
The theme for this is water in the garden, and I’d be interested in attending (though I’m unable to), as I have rather gone off ‘water features’ and wonder how the speakers (all highly experienced and successful from the look of the programme) will be defending them. The point is, the best ones are bold and big-scale, and these are fearfully expensive to instal and maintain – too showy for these straitened times, when we are all supposed to be growing our own fruit and veg instead.
Perhaps anyone who does go could report back.
